"It's so hard to find good help these days." It's a sentiment many farm leaders can relate to, or perhaps they've even heard themselves say. Truth is, finding the right employees can not only be a challenge at times, but can even become a growth-limiting factor.
Dean Heffta talks with Dewey Nelson of KRVN about how to enhance your employee strategies and policies. He'll talk about the two basic approaches: fewer, well-compensated, highly skilled employees (typically much less turnover) vs. more, lower-cost employees with less specialized skill sets (usually seasonal-type arrangements or higher turnover rate). Dean will also reveal other factors and key questions to gauge your farm's systems and whether an overhaul or update would be beneficial to your employee practices and keep your farm competitive in the job market.
